west highercalling conference

see you SOON

detail information will be updated soon

Higher Calling is a missions conference, hosted by SOON Movement GLOBAL, where we desire to mobilize college students and engage them in the harvest field both locally on their campuses and globally abroad. We desire to see a generation of Christ-centered laborers that will rise to answer God’s call of making disciples in this generation. The theme of the conference this year is “WORTHY” (Rev. 4:11, 1 Peter 2:9). As we look at the heart-breaking news today, stories after stories of brokenness, shame, and powerlessness, we are asking the Lord to reveal his love and truth, and help us turn our eyes to Jesus, who is worthy of our lives. Likewise, we pray that Higher Calling, through the worship, plenary sessions, elective seminars, and fellowship, will be a platform to engage and equip college students in living out missional lives, worthy of the cross of Jesus Christ.

David Yoontae Oh

David Yoontae Oh is currently the National Executive Director of SOON Movement. He has graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is also currently serving at the Crossbridge Fellowship Church in Los Angeles, CA. Fun Fact about him: He was part of the 1st Class for SOON Movement Staff Training in America (many years ago haha). He is married to the most beautiful woman in the world and has 5 children.

Dae Hoon Kim

Pastor Dae graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Agricultural Biology as well as from Talbot Theological Seminary with an M. Div. He was on staff with Soon Movement and trained as part of the very first class of staffs. Currently he is a lead pastor at New Beginnings of Crosspoint Church in Chino.

Darryl Smith

Darryl Lamar Smith was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from Kirkman High School in 1983 and served in the US Army for three years. God saved him in 1991; he was licensed to preach in 1992 and ordained in 1994.
He has been on staff with Cru since 1996, working with high school students at Howard High School in Chattanooga. For six years, he served as Chattanooga’s City Director and the Southeast Regional Director for three years. In the summer of 2006, Cru chose Darryl as the Executive Director for the High School ministry, in which he served until he was chosen as the Director of Oneness and Diversity in 2017. Darryl is married to Gwen and has three adult children.

Jeff Hyun

Pastor Jeff currently serves as the lead pastor of HolyWave Ministry – the English-speaking ministry of Sa-Rang Community Church.  He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations and later received his Masters in Divinity at Talbot School of Theology.  He has been married to his wife Stella for 12 years and together, they have three beautiful children – Emily, Elijah, and Elena. As someone whose life was greatly impacted through discipleship, Pastor Jeff’s greatest joys (and pain) in life comes in discipling others.  He is passionately committed to the idea that the “church is a family” – where sons and daughters of God can be restored, raised, and released for His kingdom.
